Buyer’s Market, Stable Interest Rates

I hope you are enjoying the longer summer days and getting out into nature! I love taking long walks in the forest near our home. Here are some interesting updates in the world of real estate:

BUYERS MARKET – If you are considering buying a home this summer, you are in luck! There are more homes for sale on the market than buyers looking for homes since 2013 according to a recent article in ”The Week” magazine, giving you more choices to get what you want and leverage to get a great home at asking price or below without much competition.

INTEREST RATES – continue to be fairly stable and recently dropped to 6.7% – a bit higher than the 50-year average of 5.8% but not crazy high like we experienced in the early 1980’s at 14% – 16%. I was grateful to buy my home back then at 12%…then refinanced twice over the years at lower rates down to 6%. That is always a good strategy to buy when you are ready, knowing that you most likely can refinance in 2-3 years to reduce your monthly payments.

ANOTHER HOME IN ESCROW! I am happy to report that I have another home sale in escrow! A long time friend contacted me recently with a request to find out if the owner of a rental home nearby might consider selling to him. I did the research, made the contact and it was perfect timing as the owner was getting ready to market her home soon! If you have a home you are interested in for yourself (or as an investment) that is not currently on the market, I can see if the owner might consider selling it to you with no competition from other buyers.

REFERRALS – Referrals are the lifeline for all real estate agents to grow their business. I would greatly appreciate your recommending me to your family and friends to have a conversation about how I can best support them. I am here to help you and your friends buy or sell your home.

CREATIVITY – It’s important to find a creative outlet and take time in our busy lives to express ourselves. For me, that is playing piano and writing music and poetry. I love to play my 1922 Steinway grand piano and take a few minutes to relax into the music each day. I recorded my original piano compositions a few years ago for the album, The Child Within.
