I have been enjoying the wonderful summer season with lots of hiking in our beautiful forested hillsides and beaches in Marin. I recently visited one of my favorite destinations of historic Nevada City and Yuba River nearby to cool off.
For the past 25 years, we have been living in Novato and love the mild weather, great hiking, restaurants, and shopping options. I have also lived in many of the towns in Marin county and Sonoma Valley over the years, so feel free to ask me about the various neighborhoods and details of the area.

I will be hosting two lovely new listings in Fairfax and Woodacre. If you are in the area, stop by and say hello!

📊MARKET HIGHLIGHTS
- Home Inventory and Median Pricing: In Marin county, homes in the Novato area are usually more affordable with less competition with other buyers. The average median price is $1.15 million with some entry level homes around $850,000-950,000. San Rafael homes are priced slightly higher averaging $1.3-1.8 million. The property values are much higher closer to San Francisco in towns such as Larkspur, San Anselmo, Corte Madera and Mill Valley.
- Time on Market: Homes that are competitively priced, well prepared and updated are selling on average in 18-21 days.
- Interest rates: The real estate market continues to be strong overall with a fairly stable 30 year fixed interest rate around 6.5%. Make sure you have worked with a lender to get a pre-qualified loan letter before starting to look seriously to buy a home.
LOCAL SPOTLIGHTÂ – My Favorite Marin Beaches
This is the time to cool off by the ocean on these hot summer days! Here is a list of my favorite beaches in Marin county:
Shell Beach State Park, Inverness – This is a hidden gem! A gentle 1/4 mile walk down the hillside to two coves with beaches on Tomales Bay (no big waves!). The water is fairly shallow and gets warmer during the summer and wonderful to swim. I always feel surrounded by nature here and it’s usually not too crowded.
Limantour Beach, Point Reyes National Seashore – A beautiful 15 minute drive through forests from Point Reyes Station to a 2 mile long, white sand beach on Drakes Bay with waves, sand dunes and beautiful sunsets. Great place to walk, sit and have a picnic.
Stinson Beach – A very popular Marin County beach on the Pacific Ocean to relax, fly kites, watch seagulls and enjoy the local cafes. There are lots of people on the weekends so get there before noon for parking!
Rodeo Beach, Sausalito – Easy access on Bunker Road just north of the Golden Gate bridge. Big waves, beautiful beach, cliffs and hiking along the Marin Headlands.
I always have time to speak with your friends, family and associates who are looking for a real estate professional to help them buy or sell their home. Although I specialize in Marin County, I have also sold properties in Oakland and have helped clients connect with excellent agents in other areas including Nevada City, Reno and Sedona. Your referrals are much appreciated.
